0706_livinghistory.jpgDenton’s treasure trove of museums includes something for every member of the family. From local firefighters to Lone Star first ladies, and from aviation to Victorian living, these rich collections tell the story that is uniquely Denton.

Denton Firefighters Museum (pictured right)
Opened by local firefighters in January 2005, Denton’s newest museum includes firefighting memorabilia from the 1800s to the present. Housed in the lobby of the Central Fire Station, the museum includes an old hose cart pulled by hand, equipment from a 1935 ladder truck, breathing apparatus from past decades, and much more. Plans are also in the works to add a bunker gear locker for kids, says firefighter Blake McConnell, the director of the museum.
